- Mother Dies After Birth of Twins
New London (IA) -- Mrs. Dale Grinstead, 21, of Danville, died Monday afternoon (August 25, 1947) in Burlington hospital, shortly after giving birth to twin boys.
The daughter of Arch and Nora Osborne Durham, she was born at Kirksville, Missouri, March 16, 1926, and was married to Dale Grinstead, at Kirksville, July 25, 1942.
She was a member of the American Legion auxiliary of New London. Surviving are her parents, her husband, the twin sons, Dennis Edward and Daniel Edmund; her grandfather, John Osborne, of Kirksville, and 3 brothers: Morris Durham, New London, and Manford and Virgil Durham, of Kirksville.
Services will be held at the Danville Methodist church at 2:30 p.m. August 27. Reverend Floyd Shepherd will officiate, and burial will be in Jager (sic) cemetery.
The body will be taken from the McDonald funeral home to the church at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
