    • Bud Raymond Jackson, 69, died at his home in Morning Sun Wednesday. The son of William and Estella Beadle Jackson, he was born June 7, 1891, at Henderson, Iowa.

      On April 14, 1920, he married Caroline Alberta Johnson. She died in 1947. Survivors include one son, Alfred Jackson, 2617 Yoder Drive, Burlington, two granddaughters; one brother, Leo Jackson, Winfield, and one sister, Emma Jackson, Wapello.

      He was a World War I veteran and a member of the VFW.

      Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. CDT at the Morning Sun Methodist church with the Reverend A. V. Weigel officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. The body is at the Pierce Funeral home in Morning Sun.

    • Morning Sun (IA) -- Bud Raymond Jackson, 69, a life-long resident of Morning. Sun, died Wednesday morning at his home here.

      The son of William and Estella Beadle Jackson, he was born June 7, 1891, near Wapello (sic).

      Mr. Jackson, married Caroline Alberta. Johnson on April, 14, 1920. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W, and a Veteran of World War I.

      Survivors include a son, Alfred Jackson, Burlington; a brother, Leo Jackson of Winfield; a sister Emma Jackson of Wapello, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents
      and wife.

      Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, at the Morning Sun Methodist church at 2 p.m. with Reverend A. V. Weigel officiating. Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun. Friends may call at the Pierce Funeral Home Friday afternoon and evening. The body will be taken to the Methodist Church at 12:30 p.m.

    • Popular Young Couple Wedded

      The marriage of Lena Alberta Johnson and Mr. Bud R. Jackson took place at the Methodist parsonage in this city, Wednesday evening at 5:00 o'clock, the Reverend J. S. Decker performing the ceremony, the ring service being used. Other members of the wedding party were Miss Edna Johnson, a sister of the bride, and Miss Marion Newhirter and Mr. Chester Rutt. The bride was becomingly dressed in a gown of blue Georgette over satin and carried roses. Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents, only immediate members of the families being present.

      The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Johnson of this city, and is a deservedly popular young lady. She has been a clerk at Holiday's store for several years and by her pleasant ways has won many warm friends. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Jackson, living northwest of town, and is known as an excellent young man. He spent several months with Uncle Sam's soldiers in France.

      The happy couple will go to housekeeping on a farm northwest of town very soon. The News-Herald joins with the many friends in best wishes for a happy and prosperous married life.

    The funeral report from Alfred Gustav Johnson's Funeral in The Burlington Hawk-Eye. Alfred Gustav Johnson (1848-1932) lived for many years in Morning Sun, Iowa. His funeral was attended by a large number of relatives and friends March 13, 1932. He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery near Morning Sun.
