    • Donna Jonas passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009, at the age of 82. Donna was born in Wapello, Iowa, to the late Ralph Thomas and Marian Louise Dotson.

      Donna was a loving person who touched everyone she met. She was a wonderful, loving and supportive wife to her husbands. She was a very special parent to her children Peggy, David, Bob and Carol. She cherished her relationships with her grandchildren, stepchildren and friends. She was a wonderful example of how to live. Donna loved life and clung to it as long as she could. She believed in the afterlife and looked forward to being with loved ones who have gone before.

      She is preceded in death by her husbands: Bruce Rich, Meryl Cooper, Robert Pelton and Otto Jonas; her son, Robert Rich; her stepdaughter, Carolyn Tonge; and her siblings, Lucille Poggemiller and George Dotson.

      She is survived by her sister, Mabel Kelly and her family, by her children Peggy Rich, David Rich and Carol Rich and their families and by her stepchildren Paul Cooper, Janice Bindra, Carol Sams, Donna Tobin, David Jonas and Karl Jonas and their families.

      A memorial service will be held for her family and friends at Admiral Congregational United Church of Christ, 4320 SW Hill Street, Seattle Washington 98116 on Sunday April 26th at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception. Flowers may be ordered through South End Florist. Memorials may be sent to Admiral U.C.C.

      Oakville, Iowa, November 24. -- A wedding of much interest was that of Thursday evening at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Callahan. near Newport, when their daughter, Marian Louise, was united in marriage to Ralph Thomas Dotson. Reverend Frank Young performed the ceremony in the presence of immediate relatives and friends. Proceeding the ceremony, musical numbers on the piano and violin were rendered, with a vocal solo, "Just Because," sung by Miss Yera Campbell. The home was beautiful in its color scheme of yellow and white, and during the ceremony the couple stood under a large bell. A two-course luncheon was served. Both Mr. and Mrs. Dotson have a multitude of friends who extend congratulations.

    • Mediapolis (IA) -- In a double ring ceremony a 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, June 1, at the Fairview Methodist church, Miss Donna Marian Dotson became the bride of Bruce Paul Rich.

      The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Dotson, Mediapolis, and Mr. Rich is the son of Dr. and Mrs. C. L. Rich, Mt. Vernon

      Reverend C. W. Richardson, Lenox, officiated. Miss Frances Swaboda of Mt. Vernon played the wedding music, and accompanied Miss Frances Kacerovsky, Mt. Vernon, who sang.

      The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by her sister, Mrs. James Kelly, matron of honor, and Mrs. Wilbur Poggemiller Jr., bridesmaid, and Miss Joan Rich, the bridegroom's sister, bridesmaid. Bonnie McDonald and Patty Baird were flower girls and Terry Ray Poggemiller was ring bearer. James Kelly was best man, and Wilbur Poggemiller, Jr., and Ronald Campbell served as ushers.

      A reception for 100 guests was held at the home of the bride's parents after the ceremony. Assisting with the courtesies were the Misses Patricia Britcher, Jeane Wakey, Jackie Woodman, Mrs. Kenneth Baird, Mrs. Donald Kennedy, and Miss Judith Deam. The bride, a graduate of Mediapolis high school, attended Cornell college. She has been teaching in the Morning Sun school.

      Mr. Rich was graduated from Mt. Vernon high school, and is employed as a draftsman for the Iowa Light & Power Company in Cedar Rapids. He served 3 years in the navy during World War 2.

      The couple will reside in Mt. Vernon after their return from a brief wedding trip.
