The Death Notice of Betty Lee (Brown) Moyers
Betty Lee Brown was born in Missouri in 1924, the daughter of Walter L. Brown (1900-1967) and Fern Esther Foggy (1904-1988). Her parents were both college graduates, which was not common in that time period. Her mother was a member of the Foggy family that settled very early on in Lee County, Iowa. Her father was a widely known Iowa agricultural leader. Their family eventually settled in Knoxville, Iowa. Betty married Lloyd Arthur Moyers (1924-2012) in Missouri in 1946. They had one daughter, and adopted one son. Neither lived to be two years old. The daughter died shortly after birth in 1947. The son, John William Moyers, managed to strangle himself at age one when his bib overalls became stuck somehow to his crib. Betty also died young, on November 24, 1968, at age 44.
