For many years Mr. Baird, with his brother, have been engaged in the farming and stock raising and shipping business in this community and few if any farmers raised more or better stock than Baird Bros., or did better farming. The passing of this man will mean an irreparable loss to the community as well as to his family.

"Tom" Baird, while not a religious man, was a good man; honest in all his dealings, kind and good to his family and had an interest in the entire community. Those who knew the Baird Bros., Tom and Sam, saw how closely and deeply they were attached to each other and how they furnished a splendid example of "brotherly love."
