      A 71-year-old Burlington woman, her 46-year-old son and a 29-year-old Muscatine man are dead as the result of a collision between Muscatine and Davenport Sunday.

      Dead are:

      Mrs. Edna Luttenegger, 815 Oak Street.

      David Sheridan, Oakville rural.

      Wayne E. Cubbage, 1910 Wisconsin Street, Muscatine.

      In critical condition in Mercy hospital, Davenport, is Sheridan's 40-year-old wife, Barbara.

      Mrs. Luttenegger was the mother of Mrs. Mary Lou Smith of 916 Parkway Drive and a sister of Frank Brockway of 1713(?) South Street.

      Highway patrolmen said cars driven by Cubbage and Sheridan collided on US 61, eight miles west of Davenport, at 9:30 a.m., Sunday.

      A double funeral is scheduled Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Oakville Methodist church for Mrs. Lutenegger and Mr. Sheridan. Obituaries on Page 7.

    The death notice of Edna Maude (Brockway/Sheridan) Luttenegger and her son, David Frank Sheridan. Edna and David were both killed in an automobile accident, along with the driver of another automobile, Wayne E. Cubbage of Muscatine, Iowa. Barbara (Schwob) Sheridan died a few days later.

    • Double Rites For Accident Victims

      Oakville - A double funeral will be held at the Oakville Methodist church at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a mother and her son, both victims of a Sunday morning (September 24, 1967) traffic accident.

      The Reverend Frederick Richard, a relative of Mrs. Edna Luttenegger, and David Sheridan, will officiate. David Sheridan will be buried in Edwards cemetery, near Oakville; Mrs. Luttenegger, in Aspen Grove cemetery, at Burlington.

      The bodies are at the Fry Chapel, in Mediapolis.

    • (This is part of a larger article, "Double Rites for Accident Victims, for both he and his mother, who were killed in the same automobile accident:) David Frank Sheridan was the son of Claude and Edna Brockway Sheridan and was born at Oakville on February 16, 1921.

      He was graduated from the Oakville high school and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Methodist church and the American Legion. Mr. Sheridan farmed in the Oakville-Huron vicinity. He married Barbara Schwob of Wapello on December 31, 1944. They were married at Southern Pines, North Carolina.

      Surviving: The wife; the sisters (see his mother's obituary); son David Sheridan, a student at Iowa State university, Ames, and a daughter, Nancy Sheridan, a student at Burlington Hospital School of Nursing.
