    • Robert William Burgus, 37 former Burlington resident, was dead on arrival at Carle hospital in Urbana, Illinois, Sunday at 11 a.m.

      He was born May 30, 1929, in Burlington, the son of Wesley and Helen Bischoff Burgus. He had been a shoe salesman, and was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Burlington.

      Surviving: His stepmother, Mrs. Jean Burgus of Dubuque; and two brothers, Jim and David Burgus of Dubuque. Services. Pending at Prugh's; Aspen Grove cemetery.

    • Services for Robert William Burgus. 37, who died Sunday in Urbana, Illinois, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Prugh's Chapel, Reverend D. J. Michael; Aspen Grove cemetery.

      He was born May 30, 1929, in Burlington, the son of Wesley and Helen Bischoff Burgus. He had been a shoe salesman before moving to Urbana last June.

      He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Burlington, and was a member of the Burlington Municipal band for several years.

      Surviving: His stepmother, Mrs. Jean Burgus of Dubuque; two brothers, Jim and David Burgus, also of Dubuque; and three uncles. An Epilepsy Foundation Memorial Fund has been established.

    • Bischoff and Burgus Nuptials Solemnized

      A pretty church wedding was solemnized last evening at seven o'clock at the Zion Evangelical church when Miss Helen Bischoff became the bride of Mr. Wesley Burgus. The ceremony was performed before a canopy of asparagus fern and daisies. At either side ot the canopy was a large basket of pink peonies end the choir loft was covered with rambler roses. Arches made of asparagus ferns had been Improvised at both ends of the choir loft and Reverend Chris Rasche, who performed the ceremony entered from one side and the groom and his best man entered from the other side.

      Preceding the ceremony Mr. A. F Morlock played the organ for thirty minutes and the following selections were enjoyed:

      Minuet in G - Beethoven.
      I Love You Truly - Carrie Jacobs Bond.
      Fairy Harp - G. Dudley Martin.
      Oh! Promise Me - R. de Koven.
      Miss Helen Biklen sang "At Dawning."

      Miss Edna Burgus was the maid of honor and wore a pale green georgette dress fashioned with a full skirt and a large bow of tulle on the side. She carried a shower bouquet of roses. She wore a coronet of gold braid on her head.

      Miss Elsa Scholl and Miss Ruth Baumie were the bridesmaids. Miss Scholl's dress was davender georgette and Miss Baumie wore rose colored georgette. The dresses were made with full skirts and large tulle bows on the left side and the girls carried bouquets of daisies tied with tulle to match their dresses. Wreaths Of flowers adorned their hair.

      The bride wore a bouffant taffeta dress trimmed with Spanish lace and pearl trimmings. She wore a coronet banded with orange blossoms and her tulle veil was fastened to the coronet. Her bouquet was of white roses and lilies of the valley tied with satin ribbon.

      Arthur Enhorning acted as the best man and Walter and Milton Rasche were the ushers.

      After the ceremony a wedding reception was held at the home of the bride's parents on South street for members of the immediate family. The bride's table had a large wedding cake for the centerpiece and lavender tapers tied with pink tulle were also used on the table.

      Mr. and Mrs. Burgus left last evening for a wedding trip to Chicago and Peoria, Illinois. They will live at 2500 Mark Lane.

      The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bischoff and has been employed as stenographer at the Northwestern Cabinet company.

      The groom is the son of Mrs. August Burgus and is connected with the Nurre Mirror Plate company.

      Miss Emily Scholl of Chicago, Illinois, was an out-of-town guest.
