    • Addison L. "Shorty" Berry Jr. Addison L. (Shorty) Berry, 56, Burlington route 3 farmer, died Tuesday afternoon in University hospitals, Iowa City, where he had been a medical patent for about two weeks. He had been ill for about a month.

      Born July 4, 1899, in Sperry, he was the son of Addison and Eunice Griffith Berry. October 9, 1919, he married Margaret Edwards in Burlington. They were divorced in 1922. He was a member of Moose lodge.

      Surviving are a daughter, Mrs, Jean Norman of Gulfport, Illinois; two brothers, Jim Barry ot Burlington route 3 and William Berry of Mediapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Olive Walker. New London, Mrs. Ann Baker of Mediapolis, and Mrs. Edith Pohrens of Dubuque, and three grandchildren. A daughter, his parents, and three brothers are dead.

      Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Fry chapel, Mediapolis. Burial will be in Old Stone cemetery.

Addison Jr. was born July 4, 1895, in Sperry, Iowa, died February 14, 1956, at Iowa City, and was buried on February 16 at Dolbee Cemetery in Huron Township, Des Moines County, Iowa. His wife was the former Margret J. Edwards.
