    • Guard Unit Will Leave for Camp

      The Mt. Pleasant unit, Battery B., 113th AAA AW BN. (Sp), of the National Guard will leave Sunday, July 24, for two weeks at camp at Camp Haven, Wisconsin.

      The unit's strength consists of 122 enlisted men and six officers. They will have practice with 40 mm guns, M-16's, carbines, and sub-machine guns.

      One of the high spots of the camp period for the local unit will be the receiving of the Eisenhower trophy on July 30. The presentation of the covented (sic) trophy will be made by a high official or officer. Local announcement that th eunit had won the trophy was made some weeks ago. The local unit also won the Marksmanship trophy and will receive that award also on July 30.

      The five batteries of the 113th which will be at Camp Haven will be the Headquarters Battery, Burglinton; A Battery, Washington; B Battery, Mt. Pleasant; C Battery, Ottumwa, and D Battery, Oskaloosa.

    The Hawk Eye 
    • Harry Robert Seager, 60, of Mount Pleasant, died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 1998, at his home.

      Born January 19, 1938, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Bryan and Alpha Kriekel (sic) Seager. He married Karen Kephart.

      Mr. Seager worked as a television tower installer for several years.

      Survivors include two sons, Monte Seager and Donnie Seager; one daughter, Roberta Barnhouse; three grandchildren; two brothers, Cloyce Seager of Mount Pleasant and Richard Seager of Milan, Illinois; and two sisters, Velma Wellington of Mount Pleasant and Janice Farnsworth of New London.

      He was preceded in death by his parents.

      Visitation will be after noon Monday at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

      The funeral for Mr. Seager will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Beatty Funeral Home with the Reverend Brad Gillis officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
