    • His headstone record in the Burge Cemetery book spelled his surname "Edger." It's known from Walker family stories passed down that this was the general pronunciation of the name; the alternative spellings of "Edgar" and "Edger" persisted throughout the whole line of descendants of John and Ann (Arnison) Edgar/Edger. It's best to use the spelling whenever possible that each individual in the family used (note: Charles's son Thaine apparently used "Edgar"), when that can be determined.
