    The Hawk Eye 
    • N. Alliene Cutkomp, 84, of Wapello died Saturday morning, September 20, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      Born November 2, 1918, in Wapello, she was the daughter of Daniel McKay and Mabel Margret Odle Yakle. On March 8, 1939, she married John H. Cutkomp in Burlington.

      Mrs. Cutkomp was a homemaker and had worked at the Western Auto and Wapello Apparel. She attended school in Wapello. She was a member of the Louisa Center Church, the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Cairo, and most recently, the United Methodist Church in Columbus City. She was a member of the Long Creek Homemakers Club and the Golden Hour Club. She enjoyed traveling.

      Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Joyce Kerr of Morning Sun; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; five sisters, Janelle Buster and Beverly Stineman, both of Grandview; Mackie Krahl of Des Moines, Kay Wiele of Mount Pleasant, and Barbara Hewitt of Morning Sun, and one brother, Danny Yakle of Wapello.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one sister and one brother.

      Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

      The funeral for Mrs. Cutkomp will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with the Reverend Cathy Whitlatch officiating. Burial will be in the Wapello Cemetery.

      Memorials have been established for the Wapello Rescue Unit and the Louisa Center Church Historical Project.
