      Bonnie Seager, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, died Monday, December 1, 2008, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

      Open visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008, from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel. There will be no family visitation. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2008, at the Faith Christian Outreach Church with Pastor Monte Knudsen officiating. A private family burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Faith Christian Outreach Church and the Henry County Animal Rescue Organization.

      The daughter of John D. and Bessie V. Heinbaugh Belles, Bonnie June was born on February 12, 1930, in Blakesburg, Iowa. In 1941, her family moved to New London, Iowa. She was a 1948 graduate of New London High School. Bonnie married Cloyce Seager on November 12, 1960, in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2003.

      Following graduation, Bonnie worked for Sheaffer Pen in Mt. Pleasant until 1954, at which time she began working for Champion Spark Plug in Burlington, Iowa. In 1974, Bonnie went to work for Lomont Molding and has worked there for the past 34 years as a secretary. She and her husband, Cloyce, owned and operated Iris City Antiques from 1986 until 2004.

      Bonnie enjoyed spending time with family and friends and cooking with her daughter. She enjoyed attending church at The Faith Christian Outreach Church, working, and spoiling her three granddogs. Bonnie liked spending time working in her yard and especially with her flowers. She enjoyed shopping and collecting Eisenburg Christmas Pins.

      Survivors include one daughter, Soni, and her husband Corey Scott of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and one brother, Larry Belles, of Rochester, New York. She is also survived by three nephews and one niece.

      Along with her husband, Cloyce, Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ted L. Belles.

      Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant.

      The funeral for Mrs. Seager will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Faith Christian Outreach Church, with the Reverend Monte Knudsen officiating. A private family burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

    • Bonnie June Belles Becomes Bride of Eugene R. Thielbert

      Bonnie June Belles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Belles, 306 East Washington street, Mt. Pleasant, and Eugene R. Thielbert of New London were married at the Bethany Lutheran church Saturday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock.

      Reverend R. R. Belter read the double ring service in the presence of several relatives and friends.

      The couple was attended by Mrs. Ted L. Belles and Mr. Kenneth Thielbert, sister-in-law of the bride and cousin of the groom. The bride was attired in a rose wool suit with white accessories. She had a gardenia corsage. A reception for 40 guests was held immediately following the ceremony at the Union Hotel in Burlington. The bridal table was centered with a 3-tier wedding cake.

      Mr. Thielbert is employed by Kennedys Dairy of Mt. Pleasant.

      After the wedding trip to Chicago and Detroit they will return to re-reside in New London.

    Bonnie Seager was the sister of Ted L. Belles, who married Mazie Ella Walker-Belles. Bonnie was born in 1930 in Blakesburg, Iowa. She married Eugene Richard Thielbert in 1946 and in 1960 married Cloyce Byron Seager, the son of Bryan Aaron and Alpha Maud Krakel Seager. Cloyce and Bonnie's daughter is Soni Scott.
