    • Charles Edward Burgus, 92, of rural Sperry, died at 9 a.m. Monday, August 6, at his home.

      Mr. Burgus, a retired farmer, was born September 22, 1878, in Des Moines county, the son of William and Margaret Brumm Burgus, and on February 24, 1904, in Des Moines county he married Lida W. Kellogg.

      He was a member of the Kingston Methodist church.

      Surviving: One son, Cecil, of Sperry; three grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

      Funeral arrangements are pending at Fry's chapel, Mediapolis.

    Charles Edward Burgus
    Charles Edward Burgus (1879-1971) was the son of William A. and Margaret (Brumm) Burgus. He was a nephew to my great grandfather, William Brumm (1850-1919). Charles married Lyde Workman Kellogg in 1904 in Kingston, Iowa. They were the parents of Cecil William Burgus and Francis Wilma Burgus. Their daughter Frances died at age 3 days.

    Charles Burgus was the oldest child of William A. and Margaret (Brumm) Burgus. He was born in Sperry September 22, 1878, and died near Sperry August 16, 1971. Charles married Lyde Workman Kellogg (1883-1976). Their children were Cecil William Burgus and Frances Wilma Burgus. Frances died when three days old.
