    • CHARLES SCHULER PASSES AWAY AT HOME IN KINGSTON

      Special to the Hawk-Eye.

      Mediapolis (IA), March 20. -- Charles Schuler died at his home, three miles south of Kingston, on the bottom road, Friday morning (March 20, 1931) at 8:45. Mr. Schuler with his parents, Marshall and Gertrude Schuler, migrated from Dayton, Ohio, in 1856, locating at Burlington, Iowa. Three years later they left Burlington locating on a farm and establishing a home on the side of the bluffs overlooking the great Mississippi bottoms, south of the village of Kingston, Iowa, which place has been his home ever since.

      On September 14, 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Paulina Burgus. To this union six children were born. Two of the children, Mrs. Edward Land and August, have preceded their father in death.

      He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Paulina Schuler, two sons, William C. of Burlington, and Charles H. of Sperry, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. E. R. McMullen of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. J. G. Berry of Burlington, route 3. One sister, Mrs. Catherine Kruel of Burlington, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

      Brief funeral services will be held [no time published] afternoon followed by the services at 2:30 from the St. Paul's church. Burial will be made in the St. Paul's cemetery.
