    • Tiffany and altar baskets filled with white mums and pompons, lighted tapers in candelabra and palms decorated Danville Methodist church November 18 for the marriage of Miss Evelyn Kay Carden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max A. Carden, Danville, and James D. Calloway, son of Mr. and Mrs. David R. Calloway, New London. Reverend Harold Olson officiated at the double ring ceremony at 3 p.m. The pews were marked with bows and tall white tapers. Nuptial music was played by Mrs. Chalmer Boyer. Soloist was Miss Gloria Beardsworth, Burlington.

The candles were lighted (sic) by Mrs. Terry Kilbourn and Miss Jean Edwards, twin sisters. They wore identical satin gowns of bud green and orchid. Their corsages were white gardenias.

Mrs. Gerald Hales, Burlington, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Miss Genevieve Drebenstedt, Burlington. Both were attired in identical gowns of gold satin with fitted bodices, net yokes and matching mitts. They carried crescent bouquets of bronze pompons, mums and ivy. They had matching flowers in their hair. The flower girl, Patricia Ann Scheetz, niece of the bridegroom, was dressed in white satin with a net yoke and puff sleeves. White clusters of flowers were in her hair. She carried a miniature white basket with rose petals. Lonnie Brockway, Burlington, carried the rings on a white satin pillow.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attractive in white satin fashioned with a marquisette yoke edged with silk lace ruffles, princess waist and 3 lace ruffles at the hipline which fell the length of the court train. Her veil of silk illusion edged in lace was held in place by a halo of seed pearls. She wore a strand of pearls. Her bridal bouquet was of gardenias, stephanotis, rosebud chain and ivy with showers of ribbon.

Charles Hines served as best man. Ushers were Floyd Carden, brother of the bride, John Scheetz, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Dean Yocum and Gerald Hales. The bride's mother selected a teal blue dress with black accessories. The bridegroom's mother chose a cocoa brown dress with matching accessories. Both had rosebud and gardenia corsages. A reception followed in the church parlors for 200 guests. A 3-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bridal couple decorated the table. Those assisting were: Mrs. James Cox, New London, Mrs. Dennis Harter, Burlington, Beverly Brown, Morning Sun, Kathleen Mathews, Luree Jones, Jean Dodds, Helen Beck, Mrs. Earl Edwards, Jr., and members of the Danville Sewing club.

For a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana, the bride was attired in a charcoal gray suit with coral accessories and a corsage of red roses. A graduate of Danville high school, the bride attended Burlington College of Commerce and has been employed at Des Moines county courthouse.

The bridegroom is a graduate of New London high school and attended Burlington Junior college and University of Montana. He is now employed as an army auditor for the government. The couple will live in New London.

A shower was given in honor of the bride by Mrs. Gerald Hales and Genevieve Drebenstedt. Mrs. Earl Edwards, Jr., and Miss Jean Edwards will entertain at a shower after the bride returns from her wedding trip.
