Lloyd Smith and Thelma Verlee (Umphrey) Allen
Lloyd and Thelma, residents of Michigan, in what probably was a dime store photographic booth.
Thelma Verlee (Umphrey) and Lloyd Smith Allen in Pontiac Michigan
Thelma Verlee (Umphrey) and Lloyd Smith Allen in Pontiac Michigan
This photograph of Thelma and Lloyd Allen was provided by Carol Ann Kelley. Taken in Pontiac, Michigan, in the early 1940s, it is unclear what activity was being recorded, though it looks as though Lloyd might have a shovel in his hand.

Helen Umphrey with Her Daughter, Sandy, and Niece and Nephew, Paul and Phyllis Allen
This photograph, taken during World War II, was of Helen Marie (Collingwood) Umphrey holding her older daughter, Sandra Kay "Sandy" Umphrey. Standing in front of Helen and Sandy were Paul Lloyd Allen and his sister, Phyllis Ann Allen, children of Lloyd Smith and Thelma Verlee (Umphrey) Allen.

Some of the people in this photograph have been identified. For others I have made some speculation, but have not been able to get positive identifications. Those who I feel can be identified are:
Thelma Verlee (Umphrey) Allen and Lloyd Smith Allen, Roy Grant Fortner (apparently peering over the top in the back row),
Margretta Mae (Umphrey) Howey, Helen Marie (Collingwood) Umphrey, holding daughter, Carol Ann Umphrey, Maude Mae (Walker/Umphrey) Fortner, and Sandra Kay "Sandy" Umphrey.

Some of the other people in the photograph are apparently other relatives of Lloyd's.

Thelma and Lloyd Allen at an Oldtimers' Reunion
I am not sure what sort of "oldtimers' reunion" was involved in this photograph, but obviously Lloyd spent some time growing his beard before attending it. Left, Thelma Verlee (Umphrey) Allen; right, Lloyd Smith Allen.
