Cecil Miller was a grandson of Henry and Marie (Mathias) Miller, who resided near New London, Iowa, and were ancestors of a very large family clan in that area. Cecil was the youngest of six children born to Fred William Miller and Elizabeth "Bettie" Toft (his father, Fred, was the youngest child of nine in the family of Henry and Marie Miller). Cecil was born May 6, 1915 in New London, Iowa, and died March 16, 1993 at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He was married June 5, 1938 to Vera Francis Hale (1914-2002), and their children were Marvin Lee Miller, Norma Jean Miller (who died as a baby), and Kay Laraine Vierling.
