The publications listed above were printed in 1974-75 by Gay People's Liberation Alliance and Gay People's Alliance.

Gayly Forward was the initial name of the periodical, and in February, March, and April, 1974 it was published monthly.

Beginning the next quarter we published a once-a-quarter newsletter. The Government of the Student Body at Iowa State decided the publications were not "educational" enough so they eliminated newsletter funding the next year.

Indeed they may have been too educational, as we distributed these regularly to dormitories and perhaps[?] fraternities and sororities, although I cannot remember for certain about that.

Other publications of the day in Ames had a similar tone, for it was the days of dissatisfaction with all that had been.

there is a good letter/manifesto from gay men in Ann Arbor, Michigan in Sarah Bernhardt's Farewell American Tour, the final publication. It warns of assimilationist tendencies, and it predicted accurately we might be about where we are now.
