Manitoba Lola with White Face Paint, Peacock Feather, Flash Cube in Mouth

This photo was taken sometime during the two week period surrounding the visit to Ames of Metropolitan Community Church founder, Troy Perry, and Elder Freda Smith. This may have been the state of Manitoba Lola before going to listen to them speak. Flash cubes were an important accroutement and fashion statement throughout most of the Kodak 1970s, as flash bulbs had been the previous forty years.
