Visitation will be between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. today. Mr. Russel died at 6:30 p.m. Friday of a heart attack. He was born September 9, 1882, at Fonda, Iowa, and was a lifelong resident of Louisa County. Most of his life had been spent in this area. Mr. Russel was the son of John and Sarah Loveling Russel (sic) , and was born at Fonda on September 9, 1882. Mr. Russel is survived by his wife, the former Flossie Walker. Five brothers and two sisters died previously. The inscription on their stone is: "Russell - Flossie Z. 1884 - 1968, John F. 1882 - 1967." • Personal Recollection. 2 (Personal memories of genealogist, Dennis Brumm:) During my life span, Flossie and John Russell lived in the town of Wapello, Iowa. They had no electricity or running water, even through the 1960s when this was considered fairly unusual. The sink in the kitchen of their house had a hand pump which got water directly from their own well, and there was an outhouse behind the home.
