• Obituary: The Hawk Eye, March 25, 1999, Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa. 1 Mary Eloise Traman, 78, of Fort Madison, died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born April 18, 1920, in Wapello, she was the daughter of Clifford Wayne and Lillian Westfall Wagg. On August 25, 1939, she married Glenn E. Traman in Burlington. He died January 2, 1982.

Mrs. Traman was a 1939 graduate of Wapello High School. She worked for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown and for Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison until her retirement.

She was of the Methodist faith. She was a CB radio enthusiast and was a member of the Paddlewheelers CB Club. She also enjoyed gardening and cats.

Survivors include six sons, Roger Traman of Denmark, Phillip Traman, Larry Traman and Duane Traman, all of Abingdon, Illinois, Ronald Traman and Mark Traman, both of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Marilyn Emerson of Needville, Texas, Sharon Bernhart of Burlington and Darlene Smith of Oakville; 45 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Wagg of West Branch; and one sister, Juanita Hyter of Burlington.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one son, one brother, two sisters and three great-grandsons.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.

A graveside service for Mrs. Traman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Edwards Cemetery in Oakville.

A memorial has been established.
